LOOKING FOR A GRANT?

THIS IS THE PLACE TO START

FSMO currently has two grants from which to choose. Pick the one that is most appropriate for you and begin the application process…

Group Projects

FSMO currently has a $100,000 grant from the California Fire Safe Council. These funds are reserved for residents working in groups of five or more and can qualify for up to $10,000 in matching funds per project.

The first three projects were completed in 2025, but we have plenty of funding left to help more groups. Remember, you can get more bang for your buck working in groups, and by working collectively, you increase you protection against wildfires!

We can help you with the project management, but the applicant needs to be a liaison between FSMO and the participants.

Vulnerable Resident Projects

After receiving a $40,000 grant from the Contra Costa Community Impact Fund, FSMO contributed an additional $10,000 to assist our most vulnerable residents. These funds will pay 100% of a qualifying project for residents without the financial means or capabilities to manage a vegetation removal project on their own.

Whether you are an elderly neighbor on a fixed-income or you know someone in the community who needs some assistance, this is the grant opportunity for you. Feel free to begin the application process on someone’s behalf. If they qualify, we will do the rest.
