Beautiful Moraga Orinda
We are entering what is predicted to be an above-normal wildfire risk season. As the residents in our neighborhoods get abatement notifications from MOFD, many of us are answering the questions about that people typically ask about making their homes safer from wildfire: “Will it look good?” “Can I do it on a budget?” And “How do I get started?”
This is why FSMO created Beautiful Moraga Orinda to highlight local examples of attractive, wildfire resilient landscaping, decks, and fences. The site uses neighbor-to-neighbor stories to show how yards that reduce wildfire risk can also be beautiful, approachable, and achievable across a range of budgets. It includes examples from the Greater Monte Vista, Orindawoods HOA, Rheem Valley Manor East, and Sleepy Hollow Firewise neighborhoods.
Beautiful Moraga Orinda is built to change residents’ idea of what a beautiful community looks like and to provide motivation and examples that people can use right now. Please share the site with your neighbors to help them get inspired. Here is a flyer that you can distribute via email or at events. This folder has photographs and videos and our press release is here (you can put the release on the site and link to it - I’m attaching the final version of the release below).
We will continue to add videos to our website. Please email Paula Reinman (preinman@impactful-marketing.com) with ideas. We are especially interested in budget-friendly examples that are under $5,000.
