FSMO Awarded $40k Grant

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Contra Costa County District Supervisor, Candace Anderson announced the recipients of the District 2 Community Impact Fund. The fund was approved by the Board of Supervisors and comes from one-time FEMA Covid-19 reserves. Each of the five supervisor districts have $1 million to allocate as they wish to community organizations.

This allocation of funds will be used to help our most vulnerable residents - those who are unable to physically or financially manage the fire fuel load on their property. If you or someone you know is in need of financial assistance to remove hazardous vegetation from their property, please apply for assistance today!

Fire Safe Moraga-Orinda: $40k

  • Program Description: Identify and help vulnerable/low income residents prepare their properties for wildfire and plan for evacuation. Neighbors helping neighbors.

  • Contract Deliverables: Use FireAside software to assist vulnerable properties needing vegetation abatement.

  • Performance Measures: FireAside software noting how many homes were abated.
