LOOKING FOR A GRANT?
THIS IS THE PLACE TO START
Vulnerable Resident Projects
This program will pay 100% of a qualifying project for residents without the financial means or capabilities to manage a vegetation removal project on their own.
Whether you are an elderly neighbor on a fixed-income or you know someone in the community who needs some assistance, this is the grant opportunity for you. Feel free to begin the application process by requesting an assessment. If they qualify, we will do the rest.
Group Projects
This program is for residents working in groups of 5 or more and can qualify for up to $10,000 in matching funds per project.
FSMO will assess the properties to determine the scope of work and source a vegetation removal contractor through a competitive bidding process.
In the “Reason For Request” section select, “Request an Evaluation”
In the “Notes” Section, tell us if you are interested in the Group Program with 5 or more participants or if you are interested in the individual Vulnerable Resident Program.
What is the Process?
Applicant requests an evaluation.
A representative will respond to your request and arrange a time to do an on-site assessment.
After the properties have been assessed, a report is presented to the FSMO Board for approval.
Once a project is approved, FSMO will work with the resident’s project manager (usually the applicant) to schedule a time to have contractors view the proposed work and submit bids.
After a bid is accepted, the project coordinator gets consent from property owners to begin the work.
Dates for the work to begin will be established and communicated to the participants.
When the contractor has completed the work, FSMO will verify that is has been done according to the estimates and approve payment.
IMPORTANT!! This is not a reimbursement program. The project cost is split between FSMO and the participants (up to $10,000) and each party pays the contractor directly.
